The title probably gives it away but this BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT focuses on web design, software design and programming and is for those wishing to follow a career in these areas.  In order to gain a place on the course you must have at least 4 GCSEs grade A*-C or a merit in a BTEC Level 2 Diploma or the equivalent.  The BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT is worth 2 A-Levels and is very well thought of.

The Course

Over 2 years this course will really develop your web design, software design and programming skills.  In the first year units such as Event Driven Programming, Website Production and Management and Information Systems give you a great start to understanding work in the IT sector.  The 2nd year moves on to cover more specialist units such as Project Management and Digital Graphics and Computers.  This is the part that you can really make your own and use to carve out the skills you personally need to go on to the course or the career of your choice.  The whole course is coursework assessed so be prepared to take your work home and spend time on your studies on order to get the best results.
